Money to complete Ph. D in Psychology

I am in need of financial aid to complete my Ph. D. in Educational Psychology.  I am in the process of obtaining my LPC in counseling (test in Oct 05), and would love to complege my Ph. D. to be able to teach courses in Psychology to help other students like myself who may have started out late to earn a degree.  After raising three children while working a full time and a part time job, I graduated in 2003 with a Master's Degree at the age of 48 with a GPA of 3.8.

My drive and motivate comes from my father, who recently died at the age of 85.  He instilled in me that education is very important, and he expects me to go all the way to the top.  Before my father died I had plans to I had plans to get my Ph. D. after complete a second masters degree.  Now that my father has passed (Feb 05), I do not feels as if I have the time to complete the second masters, but am currently enrolled in Ph. D. program in the Harold Abel School of Psychology.  I would love to be able to complete my education with getting a second job to help pay for it, and so, I will fulfill my father's hopes and dreams for me, which would also be my hopes and dreams too.

My father had to drop out of school in the second grade to help his older brothers take care of the family farm to provide for their mother after the death of my grandfather.  I am 50 years old, and have worked two jobs most of my adult life, I am still not able to meet all of my bills in a timely manner.  I have worked for the federal government for 20 years, and have been an American Red Cross volunteer for 20 years too.  Nothing in my life has come easy, so I am praying that this would be one time that I would be able to receive help with my financial needs without losing my home.

      Ms. Doris D. Cromartie

Hi DD, Have you already checked if you are eligible for some type of federal scholarship? If you have never checked, you may want to see the link in the next section. This link will lead you to a page where federal scholarships are listed. besides this page, there are many more resources on AidPage that you can browse to see if federal support for you is available.
